Grove opened Wolf Creek Expo in May 2026

The City of Grove announced the opening of Wolf Creek Expo at 1601 Sunrise Boulevard on May 8, 2026. Located in Wolf Creek Park, the new indoor event facility adds a venue on the Grand Lake shoreline. For outdoor events around the building, a portable restroom trailer could supplement the Expo's facilities when attendance or site layout calls for it.

The opening is a completed community milestone, unlike earlier construction notices that described work still ahead.

PSO reported energy rebates for Grove's new Expo

In July 2026, PSO said the Wolf Creek Expo project incorporated LED lighting and high-efficiency HVAC, and that it provided more than $17,900 in rebates. The utility estimated the equipment would reduce use by about 140,258 kilowatt-hours each year.

If future exterior events use additional temporary space, a portable restroom trailer could be planned separately from the building's energy systems. Those figures describe projected energy savings, not measured performance over a completed year.

Grove expected Expo construction to begin in spring 2025

At its May 20, 2025 meeting, Grove's council heard that subcontractor bidding for Wolf Creek Expo had taken place and construction was still expected to start before month-end. A year later, the city announced the facility's opening. The dated meeting record and opening notice together show the project moving from planned construction into public use.

If a separate future event requires overflow facilities near Wolf Creek Park, organizers could consider a portable restroom trailer after confirming the venue plan.

Grove council awarded a new fire-station contract in 2025

The May 2025 council minutes record a motion awarding bids for a new fire station at 1820 South Broadway, as recommended by Timberlake Construction. The same meeting discussed Wolf Creek Expo and a community-center demolition, showing several public-facility projects moving at once. The minutes are the award record and do not, by themselves, establish the station's completion date.

For future authorized field crews, a contractor sleeper trailer could support temporary lodging near a project site.

Demolition of Grove's community center was complete by May 2025

By May 20, 2025, city staff reported that demolition of the community center was complete and exterior-wall cleanup and restoration were underway. The council minutes said parking-lot funding would shift to the 2025–26 capital budget, with construction then expected in fall 2025. A portable restroom trailer can support a future outdoor event during a separate facility project, provided the event site is authorized.

That is the status recorded at the meeting; the source does not verify when the parking work finished.

Grove received approval for a $1 million wastewater loan

In January 2025 the Oklahoma Water Resources Board approved a $1 million Clean Water State Revolving Fund loan for the Grove Municipal Services Authority. The financing supports wastewater-system improvements.

For crews assigned to a later authorized sewer project, a contractor sleeper trailer might serve as an approved temporary base. The announcement documents approval and funding, but does not state that all work was complete or describe each construction milestone.

Grove's post office opened beside a long-used trail

Treadwell Remsen obtained approval for Grove's post office on December 27, 1888. The settlement sat at a spring in a grove of trees in the Delaware District of the Cherokee Nation, Indian Territory, along a trail used between southwest Missouri and Afton, Vinita, and points west. That location helps explain why services and businesses gathered near the post office.

A future downtown history walk could use a portable restroom trailer at its gathering stop, not at an assumed historic site.

Grove lost the county seat to Jay in 1908

After statehood, Grove became Delaware County's seat, but its position toward the county's eastern edge prompted calls for a more central government location. Voters named Jay as the seat in December 1908, and official records moved there in 1912 after a period of maneuvering by Grove leaders. The change reshaped Grove's civic role without ending its growth.

A future county-history program could consider a portable restroom trailer if held outdoors and the venue needs temporary facilities.

Rail service to Grove ended as cars and trucks took over

Workers laid tracks to Grove from Rogers, Arkansas, in 1900, and the route was sold to the St. Louis and San Francisco system the following year. Rail remained the main way to move people and farm goods until automobiles and trucks brought passenger and freight service to an end in 1940. If a future preservation crew studies the old corridor, a contractor sleeper trailer could support fieldwork at an approved site.

That transition links Grove's early growth to later changes in transportation.

Grand Lake construction brought local work to Grove

Construction of the dam across the Grand River brought jobs to Grove in the late 1930s, before the gates closed in 1940. The new reservoir changed the area's prospects and brought the lake into local life, alongside earlier county-seat and railroad roles.

A future event on the lakefront could use a temporary shower-restroom trailer if the selected site lacks sufficient washroom facilities. OHS describes the expectations of a large shoreline; the article does not attribute later tourism figures to that early forecast.
