The Garber brothers platted a town beside the railway

Milton and Burton Garber’s town company platted Garber in October 1899, on land they bought near the Enid and Tonkawa Railway’s new branch. The railroad connected the site to a north–south market corridor. A future approved track or depot-area survey could stage a contractor sleeper trailer for its field team.

McCardie’s post office moved to the new townsite

A post office called McCardie operated near the chosen townsite before the Garber brothers moved their family’s store and post office into the new community. That small relocation tied postal service to the town’s 1899 platting. For a future local-history display about early settlement, a portable restroom trailer could serve visitors at the exhibit venue.

Four grain elevators served Garber farmers by 1905

By 1905, four grain elevators were serving wheat growers around Garber. The town had developed as an agriculture-oriented center after the railroad arrived, with stores and other services following. If a future harvest celebration needs temporary handwashing, a portable handwashing station station could be set beside the food or demonstration area.

Garber’s first gas well arrived in 1905

Oil exploration in the area began in 1904–05; the Garber Oil and Gas Company brought in a gas well in 1905. The later oil boom would transform the town, but this earlier well marks the first recorded local petroleum milestone. A modern field crew on a permitted project could use a contractor sleeper trailer for lodging at an approved site.

A 1916 well opened the Garber oil field

The Garber Field opened in 1916 when the Hoy well came in at about 200 barrels per day. Oil-well supply companies established yards in town to furnish equipment, linking petroleum production to local businesses. If a future authorized oil-field work team needs remote accommodation, a contractor sleeper trailer would fit that prospective use.

Garber oil production peaked in November 1925

Production in the Garber Field peaked in November 1925. Another boom followed in 1927 and continued through the 1930s, bringing oil-related yards and businesses to town. That cycle explains Garber’s changing fortunes better than a single strike alone. A future industrial-history event could use a portable restroom trailer for attendees at an approved venue.

A Garber-area well set a state initial-production record

By 1940, a well in Section 18, Township 22 North, Range 3 West still held Oklahoma’s record for initial production: 27,000 barrels per day, according to OHS. The figure is a historical record, not a typical well rate or a current measure. An oil-history exhibit could host visitors with a portable restroom trailer away from active industrial property.

Three refineries operated in Garber by 1929

Oil development had expanded beyond drilling: by 1929, three refineries operated in Garber, and oilfield supply firms stocked tools, derricks, and tanks. The town’s growth sat at the intersection of production, processing, and equipment sales. For a future site survey or preservation crew, a contractor sleeper trailer could support overnight work at a permitted base.

Project planning questions

Garber workforce facility FAQs.

Can you help plan a man camp near Garber?

Share the project address, workforce count, schedule, and the services your crew needs. EZE Trailer Rentals will review sleeper and supporting facility options for the location.

Which supporting facilities can be planned?

The focus is sleeper accommodation with supporting shower, restroom or bathroom, and laundry facilities. The mix depends on your workforce and site requirements.

Can the facilities be coordinated as one site plan?

Yes. Share how the units need to work together, along with placement, utility, delivery access, and servicing requirements. Final configuration and availability are confirmed for the project.

What information helps plan a project in Garfield County?

A project address, crew size, rooming needs, dates, access and placement details, available utilities, and the supporting services you want to include.

Oil exploration lifted Garber’s population in the 1970s

After declining from its 1920 peak, Garber’s population rose from 905 in 1960 to 1,011 in 1970 as oil exploration increased. The census count shows the effect of the boom period in a town that also relied on farming and ranching. A future workforce gathering might need a temporary shower-restroom trailer if a remote venue lacks washing facilities.

Inventor George E. Failing set up a tool company in Garber

George E. Failing, an inventor, established his tool and supply company in Garber in 1918. His business was part of a wider local petroleum-services network, but agriculture remained important too. A future industrial heritage display could explain that balance; if it runs outdoors, a portable restroom trailer can support visitors at the chosen venue.
