Corn’s sewer repair plan targets unwanted rainwater

Heavy rain was part of the problem Corn set out to address with a June 2026 wastewater grant. The town’s collection system was taking in excess water, and the Oklahoma Water Resources Board approved $75,000 toward replacing about 400 feet of sewer main and rehabilitating two manholes.

For nearby work that temporarily removes a building’s sewer connection, a portable restroom trailer would only help if its waste can be handled without using the isolated section. That is a site question to settle alongside the excavation plan, before workers or occupants are left without a bathroom.

Corn’s announcement describes repairs intended to reduce excess flows and prevent wet-weather overflows. It records an approved project, rather than confirming when each repair was completed.

Eighteen Mennonite homesteaders formed the first group

In 1892, eighteen Mennonite homesteaders arrived in the area that became Corn. A future history program about the settlement could plan a portable restroom trailer for visitors at an outdoor venue. By the next year, 91 family heads were recorded there, and the Oklahoma Historical Society describes the settlement as the largest Mennonite community in Oklahoma.

Korn became Corn during World War I

The community’s original name was Korn. On October 21, 1918, during anti-German sentiment in World War I, the spelling was anglicized to Corn, the Oklahoma Historical Society records. A future archival exhibit could consider a shower and restroom combination trailer for an outdoor program tied to the centennial of the change. The name change is a clear local marker of national wartime pressure.

The first Mennonite church organized in 1893

The Mennonite Church organized in 1893 and built a sanctuary at the present Corn site the following year. If a future preservation crew worked on a church property, a portable shower trailer could be reviewed for multi-day work, with the congregation’s approval. The Oklahoma Historical Society says seven additional churches were established within ten miles, reflecting a concentrated religious community rather than a single congregation.

Corn’s high school graduated its first class in 1933

The local high school’s first graduating class finished in 1933. If a school renovation ever closed facilities during summer work, a portable restroom trailer could be assessed for contractors on site. Earlier, Korn Bible Academy had opened in 1902 and continued educating students into the twenty-first century; the Oklahoma Historical Society treats these as separate school milestones.

Project planning questions

Corn workforce facility FAQs.

Can you help plan a man camp near Corn?

Send us the address, dates, and number of people staying. Tell us who will share sleeping space and which portable shower, bathroom, and laundry facilities you need. We'll discuss the available layouts with you.

Can I ask for a portable bathroom or shower on its own?

Tell us which facility you need and what is already available at the property. We can review a portable restroom trailer, mobile shower, or combined unit for the job.

How do I choose a portable sleeper layout?

Start with the rooming arrangements. A crew sharing bunk space has different needs from staff who need separate rooms. The model pages show photos and published details to help you compare.

What should I send before discussing delivery?

The address, preferred dates, crew size, and a description of the entrance and available space are useful. Include what you know about power, water, and wastewater connections so we can talk through placement.

A home for older residents opened in 1948

Corn Heritage Village began in 1948 as a home for the aged. If a future facility project required work near occupied care areas, a portable restroom trailer might keep a temporary work zone supplied while staff and residents retain access to existing services. The Oklahoma Historical Society records the institution’s original purpose as part of the town’s twentieth-century community services.

Corn incorporated as a town in 1954

Corn incorporated in 1954, decades after the settlement, church, academy, and newspaper had taken shape. A future town celebration could assess a shower and restroom combination trailer for a temporary outdoor venue, depending on attendance and existing facilities. The Oklahoma Historical Society’s timeline shows municipal incorporation as a later step in the community’s development.
