The river took the ground beneath a home near Cimarron City

Photographs from May 22, 2019 show the Cimarron River eroding the bank beneath an unoccupied home in the Twin Lakes community near Cimarron City. The Associated Press account describes at least one house falling into the river near Crescent and others left hanging over the water.

A support site for displaced residents or a recovery team would need stable ground beyond that erosion. Even a temporary shower and restroom unit serving an otherwise suitable temporary base depends on a safe approach and a property the response coordinator has cleared.

The images show a problem that persists after rain eases: the edge of the property itself can change. Where the bank has been undermined, moving facilities farther from the river is more important than choosing a location close to the original house.

The Cimarron River gives the town its name and its geography

The Oklahoma Historical Society describes Cimarron City as a rural settlement named for the nearby Cimarron River, which runs through the town’s southwest portion. The entry also places the community in the river’s drainage. That is geographic context, not a claim that the river caused a current flood or needs infrastructure work. A future river-area volunteer event could consider a portable restroom trailer only at a safe, approved gathering point.

Homes near Lake Lattawanna preceded Cimarron City’s incorporation

Scattered residential properties stood around Lake Lattawanna as early as the 1960s, before Cimarron City was formally platted. That sequence shows the area developed gradually rather than through a sudden land rush. The Oklahoma Historical Society identifies the lake as north of the later town. A future neighborhood cleanup or lake-side gathering could evaluate a portable restroom trailer after the landowner and organizer confirm access.

Developers platted a 1,000-acre Cimarron City in 1973

In July 1973, former Oklahoma resident J. L. Swaim and Oklahoma City real-estate dealer Don McLaughlin platted a 1,000-acre community in Logan County. The entry says the project was planned for a rural setting rather than a dense town center. A new subdivision or road crew at a later site could use a construction restroom trailer if local facilities are not available and the property owner approves placement.

An Oklahoma City engineer designed Cimarron City’s residential section

Leon Spitz, an Oklahoma City engineer, designed the residential part of Cimarron City. The community grew slowly as families and retirees built homes, according to the Oklahoma Historical Society. That account gives the planned design a different story from a fast speculative boom. If a future public-works project serves multiple scattered homes, a construction restroom trailer could be considered at a central, approved staging location.

Cedar Cove Lake lies within Cimarron City’s town limits

The Oklahoma Historical Society notes that Cedar Cove Lake is within Cimarron City, while Lake Lattawanna lies to the north. Keeping those places distinct helps avoid attributing every nearby shoreline event to the town itself. A future community gathering at a permitted lakeside location could consider a portable restroom trailer only after organizers check access, existing facilities, and a safe service route.

Cimarron City incorporated in 1974 with 35 residents in 1980

The Oklahoma Historical Society gives 1974 as the town’s incorporation year and reports 35 residents in the 1980 Census. By 1990, the population had doubled. These numbers document the early scale of the community, not the present size of an event or work crew. If a municipal gathering is planned in an outdoor space, a portable restroom trailer should be selected from a current attendance estimate.

The 2000 Census recorded Cimarron City across 1.59 square miles

At the start of the twenty-first century, the town’s 1.59 square miles held 110 residents, according to the Oklahoma Historical Society’s census summary. That record describes a low-density settlement where homes and services are spread out. For a future site job beyond the central area, a contractor sleeper trailer can be discussed only after the project owner confirms crew size and distance from lodging.

Project planning questions

Cimarron City workforce facility FAQs.

Can you help plan a man camp near Cimarron City?

Send us the address, dates, and number of people staying. Tell us who will share sleeping space and which portable shower, bathroom, and laundry facilities you need. We'll discuss the available layouts with you.

Can I ask for a portable bathroom or shower on its own?

Tell us which facility you need and what is already available at the property. We can review a portable restroom trailer, mobile shower, or combined unit for the job.

How do I choose a portable sleeper layout?

Start with the rooming arrangements. A crew sharing bunk space has different needs from staff who need separate rooms. The model pages show photos and published details to help you compare.

What should I send before discussing delivery?

The address, preferred dates, crew size, and a description of the entrance and available space are useful. Include what you know about power, water, and wastewater connections so we can talk through placement.

Cimarron City’s residents commuted to several nearby job centers

The historical account says virtually all employed residents in 2000 commuted to nearby Guthrie, Edmond, Crescent, or Oklahoma City; about 40 percent worked in management or professions. Those details describe employment patterns at that time and do not establish today’s work locations. For a future local construction project, a construction restroom trailer could support workers who must remain on site during shifts if other facilities are impractical.

Cimarron City’s 2020 Census count was 154

The Oklahoma Historical Society’s town entry reports 154 residents in April 2020, compared with 150 in 2010. For a small municipality, the count is a useful public baseline, but it cannot stand in for a particular event’s attendance. A future neighborhood meeting in an outdoor setting could consider a portable restroom trailer only if its location and expected turnout make temporary service useful.
