Cashion funded a search for additional groundwater

Cashion's search for additional groundwater received a $99,999 grant approval on January 21, 2025. The Oklahoma Water Resources Board funded test wells to identify possible future sources. At a drilling site, a crew restroom trailer would need its own confirmed supply and wastewater arrangements; the well being investigated is not an assumed connection for the crew.

The Rural Economic Action Plan grant covered the stated estimated project cost. The agency's announcement described the investigation as part of a longer-term response to local water shortages. Finding and testing a source comes before connecting it to a public supply, so the workforce's immediate facilities and the community's future system are separate parts of the project.

Two railroads met at Cashion in 1900

Cashion began where two railroads met: the Guthrie and Kingfisher line arrived from the west while the Guthrie and Western approached from the east. The first train from Kingfisher arrived May 29, 1900; the Seward train followed July 1. For a modern corridor-maintenance job, shared sleeper trailer could support an overnight team if the operator approves access.

Cashion’s first town-lot sale took place on April 26, 1900

The Guthrie and Kingfisher Improvement Company sold town lots on April 26, 1900, while the rail lines were still converging on the site. The plat surrounded the railway company's land, allowing it to control future additions. For a future utility project near the historic town center, 14-foot restroom trailer can be considered at a permitted staging point.

Cashion honors Roy Victor Cashion, killed at San Juan Hill

Cashion was named for Roy Victor Cashion, a Hennessey native killed at the Battle of San Juan Hill during the Spanish-American War. The name connected a new railroad town to a young Oklahoman's military service. At a future veterans-history program, portable handwashing station could be evaluated if the venue's permanent facilities do not serve the planned crowd.

Cashion incorporated in 1901

Cashion incorporated in 1901, one year after its first trains arrived. By then the town had grocers, a livery, dry-goods business, and a bank. If a future civic construction job brings multiple trades to the small town center, 12-foot restroom trailer could keep worker access separate from customer entrances.

Cashion lost its two rail lines in the 1930s

The Santa Fe abandoned its local line in 1934, and Rock Island removed its track in 1937. Cashion's population later fell to 182 in 1950, a low point in the OHS account. Residents adapted by supporting local grain and utility infrastructure. A future road project could use 14-foot restroom trailer where public access and traffic-control plans allow.

Cashion residents financed a 100,000-bushel grain elevator in 1946

In 1946, Cashion residents personally financed construction of a cooperative grain elevator with capacity for 100,000 bushels. The project offered an agricultural town a way to retain grain business after rail service ended. For a future elevator repair, 22-foot shower trailer could be considered for a contractor crew if the operator can support the water and wastewater requirements.

Residents helped finance Cashion’s gas, water, and electric systems

Cashion residents used local financing to build gas, water, and electric systems during the 1930s, 1940s, and 1950s. According to OHS, municipal utility receipts later covered costs until 1977 without ad valorem taxes. The record shows civic infrastructure built through local initiative. A future line replacement could use 14-foot restroom trailer at a town-approved worksite.

Project planning questions

Cashion workforce facility FAQs.

Can you help plan a man camp near Cashion?

Send us the address, dates, and number of people staying. Tell us who will share sleeping space and which portable shower, bathroom, and laundry facilities you need. We'll discuss the available layouts with you.

Can I ask for a portable bathroom or shower on its own?

Tell us which facility you need and what is already available at the property. We can review a portable restroom trailer, mobile shower, or combined unit for the job.

How do I choose a portable sleeper layout?

Start with the rooming arrangements. A crew sharing bunk space has different needs from staff who need separate rooms. The model pages show photos and published details to help you compare.

What should I send before discussing delivery?

The address, preferred dates, crew size, and a description of the entrance and available space are useful. Include what you know about power, water, and wastewater connections so we can talk through placement.

Local residents promoted paving of State Highway 74F

Mayor Elbert S. Stoner and other residents promoted paving State Highway 74F, helping farms continue to trade in Cashion after rail service ended. OHS describes the highway as a regional connection, not simply a town street. During a future roadwork phase, portable handwashing station could support crews from a staging base chosen with the highway authority.

Cashion’s population began rising again after its 1950 low

After reaching 182 residents in 1950, Cashion's population rose to 221 in 1960 and 329 in 1970. OHS links the growth partly to jobs in nearby Kingfisher and Guthrie. The figures describe a town reconnecting to regional work after its rail lines closed. If a future employer has a temporary project nearby, contractor sleeper trailer could be considered for workers on rotating shifts.
