Calera's November tornado left a narrow but damaging path

The November 4, 2022 tornado in Calera damaged a narrow corridor through the town's west and north sides. The National Weather Service's report describes a truck overturned at US-69, unanchored mobile homes displaced, and houses struck by falling trees. It rated the tornado EF1 and recorded no injuries or deaths. Those different kinds of damage would call for different repair arrangements: a house with missing shingles may still have working plumbing, while another property may need a temporary restroom trailer for contractors during repairs. That choice should follow the assessment of the individual building. Calera's experience was one confirmed tornado within a much larger late-season outbreak across the southern states.

Calera began as Cale beside the Katy line

When the Missouri, Kansas and Texas Railway built through the area in 1872, a townsite called Cale formed along the track. It was named for George Cale, who had been involved in laying out the community. The railway corridor still gives the town's early geography a practical frame: a future track or road project could use 14-foot restroom trailer at a permitted staging point away from public traffic.

A post office arrived in Cale in 1889

Cale received a post office in 1889, tying the small settlement to a wider network of mail and commerce. The town's name changed later, but this early record establishes Cale as a distinct community before statehood. If an archive or civic-building project ever brings contractors to a tight downtown site, a 12-foot restroom trailer can be evaluated for placement that leaves existing entrances clear.

Calera’s name survived a railway naming dispute

Residents tried to rename the settlement Sterrett in 1899, but the railway would not adopt that name. The eventual compromise, Calera, became official in 1910. That small civic negotiation is a useful local story in its own right: names on railroad timetables affected how communities were identified. During a future station-area event, 14-foot restroom trailer could be considered if existing public bathrooms are insufficient.

Calera’s center moved west after statehood

Following Oklahoma statehood, the town shifted westward. The move altered where homes and businesses clustered, rather than simply changing the spelling on a map. For a present-day street or utility project in a compact town center, portable handwashing station could provide a hand-cleaning point for a crew without routing workers through nearby businesses.

Prairie hay and grain gave Calera a wider market

Calera's farm trade included prairie hay and grain sold beyond the immediate area. That agricultural business connected local producers to buyers farther afield and gave the railroad-era town an export role beyond retail. A future harvest operation with rotating workers might compare 24-foot mobile laundry trailer with on-site laundry arrangements, depending on stay length and what the farm already provides.

Calera counted 703 residents in 1920

The 1920 census recorded 703 people in Calera. The count offers a dated snapshot of a community whose livelihood was tied to nearby farms and rail service, rather than a measure of its present population. If a comparable civic construction job required overnight workers, contractor sleeper trailer could be planned around the site and duration instead of assuming lodging is available in town.

Peanuts joined cotton and hay in Calera’s farm economy

Calera's twentieth-century agricultural mix included peanuts, cotton, and hay. Each crop brought different seasonal handling demands, so the town's farm story is broader than a single commodity. For a hypothetical grading, irrigation, or storage project, shared sleeper trailer can be reviewed for a small crew whose shifts make a long daily commute impractical.

Project planning questions

Calera workforce facility FAQs.

Can you help plan a man camp near Calera?

Send us the address, dates, and number of people staying. Tell us who will share sleeping space and which portable shower, bathroom, and laundry facilities you need. We'll discuss the available layouts with you.

Can I ask for a portable bathroom or shower on its own?

Tell us which facility you need and what is already available at the property. We can review a portable restroom trailer, mobile shower, or combined unit for the job.

How do I choose a portable sleeper layout?

Start with the rooming arrangements. A crew sharing bunk space has different needs from staff who need separate rooms. The model pages show photos and published details to help you compare.

What should I send before discussing delivery?

The address, preferred dates, crew size, and a description of the entrance and available space are useful. Include what you know about power, water, and wastewater connections so we can talk through placement.

The town’s newspaper names changed along with Calera

Local papers used both Sterrett and Calera in their titles as the town's naming question played out. The OHS entry notes the Sterrett Sun and Calera News, traces of a small community following its own changes in print. A future newspaper archive move or public-history exhibit could use office and sleeper trailer as a separate work base for organizers and conservators.

Calera’s 2020 census recorded 2,164 people

The 2020 census counted 2,164 residents in Calera, a present-day snapshot that contrasts with the much smaller 1920 count. A population figure alone does not explain local change, but it is a firm reference point for planning public services. For a future town event with a temporary work zone, 14-foot restroom trailer may help organizers compare portable access with existing facilities.
