Foyil’s first post office arrived in 1890

The U.S. Post Office Department granted the community a post office in 1890, with landowner Alfred Foyil serving as postmaster. His general store helped anchor the developing settlement. A future Route 66 heritage day could use a event restroom trailer near its visitor gathering point rather than on the historic pavement.

Railroad tracks crossed the Foyil region before the town formed

The Atlantic and Pacific Railroad laid tracks from Vinita to Tulsa in 1881–82, passing through what became the Foyil area while it still belonged to the Cherokee Nation. The later town developed on Alfred Foyil’s farmland. A present-day rail maintenance crew could use a 20-foot contractor sleeper trailer at an approved base; the historic line is not evidence of current service.

Foyil residents voted for incorporation in 1910

Residents voted to incorporate Foyil in 1910. By the following year the town had about 150 people and a broad roster of local services, from blacksmiths and general stores to a lawyer and newspaper. For a future civic anniversary, a shower and restroom combination trailer could support an outdoor program without blocking access to municipal buildings.

Foyil’s early school system had nine teachers

In 1911 Foyil’s school system employed nine teachers; by 2000 the prekindergarten-through-twelfth-grade district enrolled 633 students. Those figures belong to different eras and are not a current enrollment count. If a future school athletic event needs facilities at an approved field, a shower trailer could serve participants after competition.

Several local newspapers used the Foyil name

The Foyil Leader served the town in its early years, followed or joined by titles including the Foyil News, Foyil Statesman, and Foyil City Breeze. This succession offers a way to trace how a small town recorded its own news. A future local-press exhibit could use a event restroom trailer for visitors at the venue.

Historic Route 66 kept Foyil on the travel map

Foyil sits on historic U.S. Highway 66, and the highway helped the town survive later rural-to-urban shifts, according to OHS. The Oklahoma Route 66 Association identifies an original concrete stretch now called Andy Payne Boulevard. During future corridor work, a contractor sleeper trailer could support a contractor team at an authorized staging site.

Foyil’s 1946 shops served farmers and ranchers

In 1946 Foyil had two gas stations, two general stores, and a grocery store, while residents relied on Claremore for banking. OHS says area businesses continued to cater to farmers and ranchers. A future downtown improvement crew might use a handwashing station station at its work compound to keep cleanup away from customer entrances.

Project planning questions

Foyil workforce facility FAQs.

Can you help plan a man camp near Foyil?

Share the project address, workforce count, schedule, and the services your crew needs. EZE Trailer Rentals will review sleeper and supporting facility options for the location.

Which supporting facilities can be planned?

The focus is sleeper accommodation with supporting shower, restroom or bathroom, and laundry facilities. The mix depends on your workforce and site requirements.

Can the facilities be coordinated as one site plan?

Yes. Share how the units need to work together, along with placement, utility, delivery access, and servicing requirements. Final configuration and availability are confirmed for the project.

What information helps plan a project in Rogers County?

A project address, crew size, rooming needs, dates, access and placement details, available utilities, and the supporting services you want to include.

Totem Pole Park entered the National Register in 1999

The folk art park associated with Nathan Edward Galloway, including a ninety-foot concrete totem pole, was listed in the National Register in 1999. OHS describes the park as nearby, so this is a regional attraction story rather than a claim that the site sits in Foyil’s town center. For an approved future visitor event, a event restroom trailer could serve attendees without altering the historic work.

Foyil’s census population reached 397 in 2020

Foyil’s population rose from 344 in 2010 to 397 in April 2020, following decades of gains and losses recorded by OHS. The census numbers describe town residents, not attendance at any festival or school event. An organizer could choose a shower and restroom combination trailer based on the expected crowd and site facilities instead.
