Rides joined Fletcher’s Cole Avenue festival in October 2026

Fletcher added rides to its Fall Street Festival on October 17, 2026, giving families another reason to spend the day on Cole Avenue. Town clerk and event coordinator Charlene Avila told KSWO that rides were new to that year’s program, alongside food trucks, local vendors and Texas-based 380 West Band. In a street layout combining rides with food and music, a supplemental restroom trailer would be placed where visitors can reach it without crossing equipment or vendor-loading spaces. The reported festival hours were eleven until five, with bingo among the activities. Those daytime hours and the mix of attractions describe a particular community gathering, with facilities planned around people circulating between several parts of the same street.

Fletcher proposed bringing batting practice onto the school grounds

In February 2025, Fletcher Public Schools proposed a $115,000 indoor hitting facility beside its baseball and softball field. Superintendent Amanda Grimes told KSWO the district was renting indoor practice space from a parent. The proposed building would give teams a place to train in the off-season and on rainy days.

A construction restroom trailer for a campus building crew would be located within the contractor’s work area, leaving team access to the fields separate from construction deliveries. The district presented the facility as one of two propositions for the February 11 election; the other covered transportation vehicles. Together they totaled $365,000. This was the proposal described before voting, with an identifiable training problem behind the building request.

Fletcher secured financing to replace a failed water well

The Fletcher Public Works Authority received approval for $999,999 in water-system funding on October 17, 2023. The Oklahoma Water Resources Board identified the task clearly: construct a new well to replace one that had failed.

A well-construction crew’s restroom trailer would need its own agreed water supply and collection arrangement while the new source is being developed. Being on a water project does not by itself provide a usable connection for the people working there.

The announced financing combined a state revolving-fund loan with complete principal forgiveness, a $200,000 bank loan and $150,079 in local money. The board presented the replacement as a way to restore adequate drinking-water supply. Its release records approval of the funding package, rather than the date the new well entered service.

Two miles of fencing were in Fletcher’s lagoon-protection award

Fletcher’s entry in the fiscal 2025 REAP project list paired 10,560 feet of fencing and gates with 1,179.75 tons of rock for erosion prevention. The work was intended to surround the lagoon irrigation system. The regional list, dated December 31, 2024, recorded a $48,500 total budget and a $45,000 award.

A public-works restroom trailer serving that outside work belongs on the crew’s agreed support ground, with access kept clear of gate installation and rock deliveries. The two parts of the funded scope addressed different edges of the same utility property: controlling entry and protecting ground from erosion. The award identifies those physical improvements without establishing when installation was finished.

A new paint line was proposed at Fletcher’s wallboard plant

Georgia-Pacific’s Fletcher plant proposed adding fiberglass-mat wallboard and a separate paint line in a March 2021 construction-permit review. The DEQ document located the plant north of town, reached from US-277 and King Road. Its scope included changes to drying and finishing equipment while retaining the existing board products. For an outside installation team staying through an extended plant project, sleeper trailers can be arranged at a separate lodging property around the confirmed roster. That keeps accommodation outside the manufacturing and truck-delivery areas.

The proposed paint line had its own intake dust collection, preheater, ovens and coating equipment. The review expressly treated this project as separate from earlier permit modifications. It is evidence of a defined expansion proposal, with several processes to install and coordinate.

An ingredient feeder solved a recurring problem at Fletcher’s mill

Dextrose has a less obvious role at Fletcher’s Georgia-Pacific wallboard mill: it helps control drying at the edges of the board. A crew restroom trailer at an approved contractor compound can keep everyday breaks outside production during equipment work. KWS Manufacturing’s installation account describes the particular feeding problem at this plant: the old machine could not meter the powdered sugar reliably and suffered repeated mechanical failures.

Its replacement was a six-inch screw feeder with a variable-pitch design. The supplier’s team first visited the mill, met its engineer and measured the existing equipment before choosing a design that fitted the available space. KWS reports that the replacement resolved the feeding problems. The published account does not give an installation date.

Fletcher’s mutual-aid crews stopped a fire at King Road

Wind gusts near fifty miles an hour pushed a fire north of Fletcher on February 14, 2023. It started near US-277 and King Road shortly before half past one. Fletcher firefighters were joined by neighboring departments and county road graders; KSWO reported that crews contained the spread at King Road. A response-base restroom trailer needed for a later mutual-aid staging operation would be positioned at the coordinator’s cleared base, leaving the road edge available to emergency vehicles. The reported fire burned about twenty acres. One business was evacuated as the flames approached, but no structures were damaged. KSWO identified a rekindled controlled burn from several days earlier as the cause.

Fletcher’s 2025 fair appeal began before the exhibits arrived

Fletcher Free Fair’s women’s exhibit building needed new volunteers in summer 2025 after longtime helpers retired. An August 1 local report described an appeal for people to prepare the building, set up displays, maintain it during the fair and help with awards. For an organizer adding a visitor restroom trailer to the fairground layout, servicing and cleaning need an assigned person too, alongside the indoor exhibit duties. The reported fair dates were August 28–30, with preparation beginning a day or two earlier. The fair’s own catalog describes a wider program of FFA and 4-H livestock, home and hobby exhibits, a midway and tractor activities. The volunteer appeal concerned the work required to keep one part of that program running.

A roof collapse and snapped poles marked Fletcher’s August 2013 storm

A commercial building’s roof collapsed in Fletcher during the August 15, 2013 windstorm, according to the National Weather Service. The local entry also records carports blown away and three utility poles snapped. Emergency management supplied the report.

A contractor restroom trailer for a later building-repair crew would belong at an inspected contractor base outside the damaged structure. Its delivery route and utility arrangements would be settled after the collapsed roof and fallen lines were assessed. The Fletcher report identifies a commercial repair setting where both the building and its surroundings needed attention. Keeping the crew’s ordinary facilities outside that area lets assessment, debris removal and repair proceed without asking workers to use the affected building. The practical starting point is an available support property with a clear approach.

A 2023 contract covered sixteen miles between Lawton and Fletcher

The Oklahoma Turnpike Authority approved a contract exceeding $10 million for pavement rehabilitation between Lawton and Fletcher in May 2023. Interstate Improvements, Inc. received the sixteen-mile I-44/H. E. Bailey Turnpike assignment in Comanche County.

A road-crew restroom trailer for a contractor on that corridor would be placed at an approved staging property, where collection can continue as the active pavement work moves. Its usefulness follows the crew’s base and work hours, with the service route considered alongside material deliveries and the trip to the active section. The authority’s May 2 account records the award to a named contractor for a measured length of road. It committed funding to maintaining the highway connection between the two communities.
