Crowder’s sewer plan spans more than a few manholes

Rainwater entering Crowder’s sewers was sending unwanted flow toward treatment. In March 2024, the Oklahoma Water Resources Board approved a $1 million grant for a replacement program covering 10,500 feet of sewer main and 27 manholes.

A job of that scope can place crews at different parts of the network. For a future assignment, the contractor could keep temporary restroom facilities at a fixed compound with dependable service access, while work fronts move between streets. That avoids tying the crew’s bathroom to whichever pipe segment is currently being excavated.

The grant announcement says the works were intended to reduce inflow and infiltration and prevent wet-weather discharges. It establishes the funded scope, without reporting that every replacement has been installed.

A court order changed Juanita to Crowder

A post office was authorized for Juanita on March 21, 1902, but another town in the Choctaw Nation already used that name. A court ordered a change, and residents selected Crowder. The Oklahoma Historical Society records the postal date and the reason for renaming. If a future local-history exhibit covered the switch, a shower and restroom combination trailer might fit an outdoor venue.

A nearby siding shipped locally quarried stone

Before Crowder developed, a railroad siding called Bond operated in the vicinity, shipping locally quarried stone to market. A future field crew mapping the corridor could review a portable shower trailer if survey work ran across several days. The Oklahoma Historical Society notes that residents also used names such as Turkey Creek or Bengal for the siding at different times.

Crowder had 549 residents and a bank by 1910

By 1910 Crowder had a population of 549 and a busy commercial center that included hotels and a bank. For a future preservation project around a former business district, a portable restroom trailer could serve a temporary work zone if local facilities were closed. The Oklahoma Historical Society ties that growth to the town’s rail crossroads and cotton trade.

Two Crowder papers covered the town before 1917

The Crowder City Advertiser and Crowder City Guardian informed residents before 1917. If a future archive project brought people together to digitize surviving issues, a mobile laundry trailer could be considered for a multi-day field team. The Oklahoma Historical Society records both newspaper titles, giving researchers a route into the town’s early civic debates and business news.

Project planning questions

Crowder workforce facility FAQs.

Can you help plan a man camp near Crowder?

Send us the address, dates, and number of people staying. Tell us who will share sleeping space and which portable shower, bathroom, and laundry facilities you need. We'll discuss the available layouts with you.

Can I ask for a portable bathroom or shower on its own?

Tell us which facility you need and what is already available at the property. We can review a portable restroom trailer, mobile shower, or combined unit for the job.

How do I choose a portable sleeper layout?

Start with the rooming arrangements. A crew sharing bunk space has different needs from staff who need separate rooms. The model pages show photos and published details to help you compare.

What should I send before discussing delivery?

The address, preferred dates, crew size, and a description of the entrance and available space are useful. Include what you know about power, water, and wastewater connections so we can talk through placement.

A 1949 tornado destroyed fourteen Crowder businesses

A tornado struck Crowder in 1949 and destroyed fourteen businesses. If a future storm-recovery or downtown repair project needed temporary crew facilities, a portable restroom trailer could be reviewed once the site was safe and utilities assessed. The Oklahoma Historical Society records the loss in the same history that tracks the town’s earlier railroad prosperity.

Highway 69’s four-lane redesign bypassed Crowder

In the early 1960s, U.S. Highway 69 was reconfigured as a four-lane road, effectively bypassing Crowder. A future event near town could consider a shower and restroom combination trailer. A town that had once served as a commercial crossroads became smaller, while nearby Lake Eufaula later brought tourism dollars. These are changes in transportation and regional visitor activity, not a claim about a current project.
