A September downpour pushed a Blanchard waterway into yards

The National Weather Service recorded 3 to 5 inches of rain in the Blanchard area early on September 11, 2003. On a future debris-removal job, a portable handwashing station at the field base would give crews a place to wash up before heading back to their trucks.

A waterway running through part of town overflowed into yards; at two homes, water reached the top of the foundations, and floodwaters left trash and other debris behind.

The 1973 F3 tornado tore through western Blanchard

On November 19, 1973, an F3 tornado touched down about a mile south-southwest of Blanchard and crossed the town's western side. The National Weather Service says 31 homes, two businesses and two churches were destroyed there; another 44 homes and two businesses sustained major damage. Two people in a mobile home were killed and 18 others injured in the Blanchard segment.

For a separate severe-wind cleanup, a shower and restroom combination trailer at a planned staging area would give debris crews showers and restrooms close to the work.

McClain County's 2020 ice storm left trees and power lines damaged

The county hazard plan records an early-season ice storm from October 26 to 28, 2020, with 0.20 to 0.8 inches of ice reported in McClain County and widespread tree and power-line damage across the region. When a utility company plans an extended ice-repair assignment, a mobile laundry trailer at its base can give line crews a way to rotate clean work clothes without driving off site.

Its separate Blanchard assessment points to older critical buildings with dated plumbing and poor insulation, which can leave pipes vulnerable during a winter freeze.

Low tower levels prompted a Blanchard water-conservation response

On August 5, 2026, Blanchard said extreme heat and higher demand had lowered its two main water towers below 55% of operating capacity, affecting volume and pressure across the system. The city began a Tier 2 conservation response the next day, limiting lawn watering and asking customers to avoid nonessential use during the hottest part of the day until tower levels and pressure returned to normal.

The approved water-and-sewer loan package includes extensions, a booster-station upgrade, and a storage tank. If that work proceeds, a restroom trailer at the contractor's field base could keep facilities near the crews.

A 2020 OCC notice sought a multiunit well case in McClain County

A legal notice published in March 2020 named Ovintiv Mid-Continent Inc. as the applicant for a multiunit horizontal-well case covering Sections 6, 7, 18, and 19, Township 7 North, Range 4 West, in McClain County. For a separate oilfield assignment, a contractor sleeper trailer can give a crew overnight quarters near its work area when the schedule calls for local lodging.

The notice called for a hearing; it documents an application, not a completed well or an active crew camp.

ODOT's May 2025 report listed 4.22 miles of U.S. 62 work near Blanchard

ODOT's May 8, 2025 preliminary bid-opening report lists an asphalt resurfacing job on U.S. 62 in McClain County, beginning 0.3 miles east of SH-76 and Main Street and extending northeast near Blanchard. The reported length is 4.22 miles, the contract period is 60 calendar days, and the preliminary low bid was $2,245,376.28 from Ellsworth Construction.

On a future paving assignment along the corridor, a portable restroom trailer at the contractor's field base can save crews repeated trips away from the work zone.

Blanchard scheduled hearings on Bridgesong's first phase in 2025

Blanchard's April 2025 newsletter described the proposed Bridgesong mixed-use development and golf course on about 933 acres north of U.S. 62, between South Mustang Road and South Morgan Avenue. If the first phase moves into site work, a shower and restroom combination trailer can put showers and restrooms near a shared contractor staging area.

Its Phase I preliminary plat appeared on a Planning Commission public-hearing agenda in July and a City Council agenda in December for possible approval.

A Grady County well blowout triggered evacuations near Blanchard

On Jan. 29, 2026, a well blowout outside Blanchard in Grady County prompted an evacuation within a half-mile of the site. The Blanchard Fire Department identified the area as County Road 1340 between County Streets 2970 and 2980; New Beginnings Baptist Church served as an overnight shelter. The well was capped the next day after releasing gas for more than 24 hours, and officials said oil-field workers would remain about two weeks for cleanup.

For a separate multi-shift cleanup on rural roads, an emergency portable restroom trailer at a designated field base can keep restroom facilities close to the crew.

OEC Fiber's 2021 case study names Blanchard among its communities

A 2021 broadband case study from the National Rural Utilities Cooperative Finance Corporation names Blanchard among six cities in OEC Fiber's community, which spans parts of seven rural counties. For a separate multi-shift network assignment in the area, a remote sleeper trailer can give technicians somewhere to rest near their work route.

It dates the regional build to April 2018, but does not map a route or construction phase within Blanchard itself.

A 2024 Blanchard plan priced drainage work at U.S. 62 and Morgan Road

A Blanchard project-plan amendment estimates $1.16 million for modifying and signalizing the U.S. 62–Morgan Road intersection, including drainage improvements. It lists separate road work on Old U.S. 62 and an extension of Sara Road toward Interstate 44 as part of the same proposed traffic package.

If intersection work advances to construction, a restroom trailer at the selected field base can keep breaks close while crews manage the traffic phase.
