Bartlesville accounted for about half of the 1986 flood evacuations

After an already wet September, moisture from Hurricane Paine helped bring 10 to 20 inches of rain to north-central and northeastern Oklahoma in 1986. For overnight shifts during a later Caney response, an emergency remote sleeper trailer could give responders a place to rest near the incident base, once local officials have confirmed safe access.

The National Weather Service says the Caney was among the rivers that set or nearly set record crests; about half of the roughly 30,000 evacuations from some 25 towns were in Bartlesville.

A May 2024 tornado crossed Bartlesville from southwest to northeast

The National Weather Service survey for May 6, 2024, follows the tornado from Gap Road across southwest Bartlesville and on through the central and northeastern parts of town. That Bartlesville segment was rated EF2. At a future neighborhood repair base, an emergency portable shower and restroom trailer would put shower and restroom access near the roofing and utility crews. The contractor can choose a delivery point that stays clear of debris removal and line work.

The survey estimated that 1,000 homes and businesses were damaged, with numerous trees snapped or uprooted and many power poles broken.

The December 2002 ice storm cut power to 2,000 Bartlesville homes

Freezing rain on December 3–4, 2002, coated trees and power lines across parts of eastern Oklahoma. The National Weather Service recorded 2,000 Bartlesville homes without power at one point, slick and hazardous roads, and school closures on the fourth.

Utility managers facing another multi-day ice cleanup can include a mobile laundry trailer for an ice-storm crew at the restoration base, so wet workwear can be washed before crews head back out.

A Toalson pump-station line break lowered pressure in southeast Bartlesville

A discharge line from the Toalson pump station ruptured on U.S. 75 south of Adams Boulevard in October 2022. The station supplies the southeast part of town. City Water Utilities Director Terry Lauritsen said pressure dropped to about 20 pounds from 4 to 7 a.m.; crews isolated the break, used the second line to restore partial pressure, repaired the damaged pipe, and had full pressure back by 3:30 p.m. If another break keeps crews at a pump station all day, an emergency portable restroom trailer for utility work belongs on the logistics list. Supervisors can confirm placement and service access outside the traffic lane.

Bartlesville’s research center works on chemicals, plastics, and process improvements

Phillips 66 built Chevron Phillips Chemical’s Bartlesville Research and Technology Center in 1950. The company calls it its largest research center and says more than 190 chemists, scientists, and technicians there work on new chemicals and plastics, improve existing processes, and provide technical support to customers. If a maintenance contract at a chemical research site does call for an overnight crew, a remote office and sleeper trailer for a facility project can keep project coordination and lodging close to the work, with the facility approving the placement.

The site is at U.S. 60 and State Highway 123.

ODOT replaced the south half of Bartlesville’s US-60 overpass at US-75

In January 2024, the City reported that ODOT crews had finished the south half of the bridge at Adams Boulevard and Washington Boulevard, then switched traffic so work could begin on the north half. The old overpass lacked enough vertical clearance for US-75 truck traffic and had been struck several times. At the time of the update, the north side was still under construction.

On a future bridge job in the corridor, a portable shower container for a highway crew at the approved staging area can give contractors a place to clean up between shifts while leaving room for traffic and lift plans.

A 1913 plan called for a mill and grain elevator in Bartlesville

A January 1913 issue of the Washington County Sentinel and Weekly Enterprise reported that Bartlesville’s Commercial Club had closed a contract with J. L. Tipton of Kansas City for a local mill and elevator. For a modern grain-handling or feed-mill build, a portable bathroom trailer for an agricultural build gives contractors a restroom near the work base. The property owner can choose a delivery point that keeps service visits clear of grain and equipment traffic.

Construction was expected to begin that spring, with eight workers at the outset. The newspaper described an announced project, not an opening date or a completed facility.

USGS water-quality records on the Caney River date back decades

The Water Quality Portal identifies USGS station 07174500 as “Caney River at Bartlesville,” in Washington County. Its archived record includes physical and sediment observations from 1944 to 1982, along with nutrient and inorganic samples from the 1960s.

Sampling crews working from a river-side base can place a portable handwashing station for field monitoring on the upland side, close enough to clean hands after handling field gear without blocking the sampling point.

Fiber installation in Bartlesville ran through city rights-of-way

In May 2022, the City said Bluepeak and AT&T had permits to lay fiber in Bartlesville rights-of-way and that the Engineering Department coordinated the work with inspectors. A year later, a city update said Bluepeak expected to restart construction in northern areas in June and southern areas in July, with a typical three-month interval from construction start to serviceability. When a later fiber run puts splice crews away from nearby facilities, the contractor can position a portable bathroom trailer for a fiber crew at its approved work compound for restroom access during the installation.

Those dates were the company's schedule estimate at the time.

Washington County sought bids for two 3500 Road bridge replacements

Washington County's 2025 bid notice described a Twin Bridges Replacement Project on 3500 Road: construction of two county bridges with reinforced-concrete boxes and concrete-block wing walls. It locates them in sections 31, T-24-N, R-14-E and 6, T-23-N, R-14-E, Washington County. The notice set a public bid opening for October 13, 2025, at the county administration building in Bartlesville; it does not establish that construction was completed.

Bridge work on a county road can leave crews well away from town at the end of a shift. A portable shower and restroom trailer for a county bridge crew at the contractor's staging area can bring shower and restroom access close to the job, once road access and servicing are confirmed.
