Utilities came first in Collinsville’s Turner development plan

At 136th Street North and Highway 169, Collinsville’s planned Turner development needed connections to the systems around it. In November 2025, the Oklahoma Water Resources Board approved a $2.27 million loan for work serving the 154-acre site, including a lift station, a force main and a water-line extension.

A construction site waiting for permanent services cannot simply assume those connections are ready for its own workers. A temporary bathroom trailer would be one option for a future contractor base, with its water and waste arrangements established separately from the infrastructure being installed.

The board’s announcement describes financing and the intended works. It gives a useful outline for advance planning, without establishing a start date or a finished development.

Residents moved Collinsville’s first townsite on rollers

The original Collinsville stood about a mile east of its present site. A future preservation crew mapping the old and new sites could use a portable shower trailer if fieldwork ran beyond one day. When the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railroad chose a western route to avoid an extra creek crossing, residents moved wooden buildings on rollers to the new townsite around 1899 and 1900.

Low-sulfur coal fed Collinsville’s early growth

Collinsville’s coal was valued for its low sulfur content. If a future industrial-history tour visited former mine properties, organizers could consider a portable restroom trailer for guests while respecting access restrictions and site conditions. By 1902, local mines shipped roughly 15 to 20 rail carloads a day, according to the Oklahoma Historical Society.

Smelters operated in Collinsville from 1911 to 1917

Smelters ran in Collinsville between 1911 and 1917, with smaller operations continuing into the 1920s. That industrial chapter followed the town’s coal-mining expansion and shows how local energy supported other processing work. A future environmental or historic-site crew could assess a shower and restroom combination trailer for temporary worker facilities after reviewing the property’s access and utility limits.

The Collinsville News began publishing in 1899

The Collinsville News published its first issue on May 11, 1899, giving the new railroad town a local paper within months of its founding. For a future newspaper archive event, a portable restroom trailer could be considered for an outdoor display or public gathering. The Oklahoma Historical Society records the start date as part of the city’s early civic life.

A public water system arrived in 1912

Collinsville established a public water system in 1912, as the town’s population and businesses expanded. If a future pipe repair disrupted access to facilities at a public site, a portable restroom trailer might provide temporary service during the work. The date, recorded by the Oklahoma Historical Society, marks a shift from private or local water arrangements to shared municipal infrastructure.

A Carnegie library opened in Collinsville in 1917

A Carnegie library opened in Collinsville in 1917, adding a permanent civic institution to a town built around rail and coal. A future grounds event or historic building project could plan a shower and restroom combination trailer for guests or workers if the existing building cannot provide suitable access. The Oklahoma Historical Society includes the library among the city’s milestones.

Collinsville organized an early FFA chapter

The Oklahoma Historical Society dates Collinsville’s first FFA chapter to about 1922, placing the school’s agricultural program among the town’s early civic institutions. If a future agricultural fair needed facilities beyond the school building, organizers could assess a portable restroom trailer for the grounds. The source gives an approximate year rather than a precise founding day.

Project planning questions

Collinsville workforce facility FAQs.

Can you help plan a man camp near Collinsville?

Send us the address, dates, and number of people staying. Tell us who will share sleeping space and which portable shower, bathroom, and laundry facilities you need. We'll discuss the available layouts with you.

Can I ask for a portable bathroom or shower on its own?

Tell us which facility you need and what is already available at the property. We can review a portable restroom trailer, mobile shower, or combined unit for the job.

How do I choose a portable sleeper layout?

Start with the rooming arrangements. A crew sharing bunk space has different needs from staff who need separate rooms. The model pages show photos and published details to help you compare.

What should I send before discussing delivery?

The address, preferred dates, crew size, and a description of the entrance and available space are useful. Include what you know about power, water, and wastewater connections so we can talk through placement.

Collinsville was promoted as a dairy capital in 1948

By 1948, Collinsville was being described as the dairy capital of Oklahoma, a title the Oklahoma Historical Society links to the area’s dairy industry. For a future farm or dairy heritage event, a portable shower trailer could be considered for workers and exhibitors staying on site. It reflects a period when agriculture shaped the city’s identity as strongly as mining once had.

Residents built a community pool in the 1950s

Collinsville’s community pool was built in the mid-1950s, with local residents contributing to the project, according to the Oklahoma Historical Society. If a future pool renovation limited locker or washroom access, a shower and restroom combination trailer could be evaluated as a temporary option. The effort placed recreation infrastructure alongside the city’s library and water system in its civic story.
