A new roof for Bull Hollow’s community building

A roof job at a community building involves more than the roof. Workers need a place to unload and use the bathroom without carrying the job through rooms used by everyone else. At a future repair near Colcord, a restroom trailer could keep that daily traffic outside the building if indoor facilities are unavailable.

In April 2023, the Cherokee Nation sought bids to replace the roof at the Bull Hollow Community Building, at a Colcord address on County Road 564. Its procurement record lists a mandatory April 26 site visit and a $42,500 award to Hendricks Construction. For another repair at a community venue, that early walk-through would be the time to agree how workers and visitors will share the property.

The earlier settlement of Row had a post office by 1905

Colcord’s story begins a mile north, where the community of Row had a post office by May 20, 1905, along with a school, hotel, bank, and shops. A future walking tour covering both sites could use a portable restroom trailer at a permitted gathering point for visitors. The Oklahoma Historical Society preserves that earlier name in its account of the town.

A road project helped create a second townsite

A road project helped establish a new settlement called Little Tulsa, the Oklahoma Historical Society reports. If a present-day road crew ever needed overnight accommodation near a long job, a contractor sleeper trailer could be evaluated for the site. Settlers surveyed 64.8 acres for the community that became Colcord, adding a road-building chapter to a history often told through its older neighbor, Row.

Charles Colcord supplied the school’s football uniforms

When the new community took the Colcord name in September 1928, it honored Oklahoma businessman Charles F. Colcord. He also bought uniforms for the school football team, a concrete local detail recorded by the Oklahoma Historical Society. For a future school reunion or alumni field event, a shower and restroom combination trailer might help where outdoor participants need both washroom and shower access.

Colcord’s first high-school graduates finished in 1928

The school’s first high-school graduates completed their studies in 1928, the same year the settlement adopted the Colcord name. The Oklahoma Historical Society links the town’s early identity closely to its school community. If a future building project kept tradespeople on site for several shifts, a portable restroom trailer could maintain access while classroom areas were under renovation.

Row’s post office moved to Colcord in 1930

The federal post office transfer from Row to Colcord took effect on February 1, 1930. The move shifted the official postal name to the newer settlement and marked a practical turning point for residents of the older site. A future local archive project comparing the two communities could arrange a portable shower trailer for staff working outdoors, if the project location and connections allow.

Colcord’s municipal status changed more than once

Colcord incorporated in 1929, then ceased operating as an incorporated town during the 1930s and 1940s before reincorporating in 1960. For a future public-works job serving town facilities, a portable restroom trailer could provide temporary access during a phased repair. That uneven timeline is more revealing than a single founding date: the civic structure followed the community’s changing fortunes.

A park, pool and community center arrived in the 1960s

Colcord added a park, pool, and community center during the 1960s, expanding the town’s shared spaces after its reincorporation. If a future pool renovation required temporary closure, a shower and restroom combination trailer could be assessed for users and workers while permanent amenities were unavailable. The Oklahoma Historical Society describes these as community facilities, not as a single construction contract.

Project planning questions

Colcord workforce facility FAQs.

Can you help plan a man camp near Colcord?

Send us the address, dates, and number of people staying. Tell us who will share sleeping space and which portable shower, bathroom, and laundry facilities you need. We'll discuss the available layouts with you.

Can I ask for a portable bathroom or shower on its own?

Tell us which facility you need and what is already available at the property. We can review a portable restroom trailer, mobile shower, or combined unit for the job.

How do I choose a portable sleeper layout?

Start with the rooming arrangements. A crew sharing bunk space has different needs from staff who need separate rooms. The model pages show photos and published details to help you compare.

What should I send before discussing delivery?

The address, preferred dates, crew size, and a description of the entrance and available space are useful. Include what you know about power, water, and wastewater connections so we can talk through placement.

A fruit farm brought seasonal work to local residents

A fruit farm on the ranch of Charles Colcord’s daughter and son-in-law employed people from the area, according to the Oklahoma Historical Society. The detail adds agricultural employment to the town’s better-known school and road history. During a future harvest or farm restoration project, a portable shower trailer could be considered for a temporary crew base if the owner wanted an on-site facility.

Old Settlers Day preserves a community gathering tradition

The Oklahoma Historical Society’s Colcord entry records Old Settlers Day as a community gathering held on the second Saturday in June. That is a dated description in a historical reference, not a verification of this year’s schedule. If organizers stage a future outdoor reunion, a portable restroom trailer could help serve attendees where permanent facilities are limited.
